Bishop urges gov’t to focus on dev’t of alternative energy sources

A Catholic bishop has urged the government to focus on the development of natural gas and other alternative sources of energy as this would lessen the country’s dependence on oil-rich countries.

Obama Budget Slashes, Boosts Environmental Programs

The Obama administration released its budget on Monday, and the details show the difficulties of balancing environmental funding. Obama’s $3.7 trillion blueprint for the nation’s budget attempts to gain momentum for the development of alternative energy research, but proposes slashes elsewhere in what could be one step forward and one step back for the environment.
